Facilities Laboratories
“I consider nature a vast chemical laboratory in which all kinds of composition and decompositions are formed.”- Antoine Lavoisier
To enhance the learning ability and skill and impart practical exposure about theoretical concepts, the school has a large number of modern laboratory systems, including – Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Life Sciences), Languages, Mathematics, Social Sciences (History & Geography Museums), Biotechnology and Art & Craft Studio. All these labs are well-equipped with specific apparatus and gadgets, effective and efficient teachers to test ideas of students, help them perform experiments and at all the same time encourage them to make their own discoveries. The budding geniuses gain hands-on-experience in these laboratories by experimenting with the gadgets and verifying the given laws.
Physics Lab
The Physics lab is equipped with state-of-the-art apparatus required by students for various experiments and for their extended experimentation in projects. The experiments related to almost all topics in Physics like electricity, magnetism, light, liquids, waves, resonance can be performed from the elementary to the most sophisticated level.
Chemistry Lab
The Chemistry lab is well equipped with apparatus and always has sufficient stock of chemicals to perform various experiments and projects as prescribed by CBSE curriculum. Separate place for storing chemicals and work tables with acid proof tiles makes it highly safe for the students to perform experiments.
Biology Lab
The unique design of Biology lab and a vast collection of specimens make it favorable for group as well as individual activity. With its modern lab equipments it is highly compatible for experiments.
Bio-Tech Lab
Simpkins has a Biotechnology laboratory which has all the necessary equipment recommended by CBSE such as centrifuge, spectrophotometer, Colourimeter,
Laminar flow hood, BOD incubator, Microwave, refrigerator and many more.
Maths Lab
The Maths Lab is well ventilated, spacious with all modern training equipments. There is ample space for display and the elevated round tables further assist in conducting experiments. Students are made to understand difficult concepts by doing activities that verify, discover and reinforce concepts already learnt. There are many puzzles and games that make learning fun. Students verify Geometrical theorems using Tangrams and verify Euler’s formula by using Jodo sticks and creating 3-D figures. There are activities like Rangometry where students create beautiful designs using triangles, squares, pentagons etc. thus making learning meaningful and multisensorial. Children are encouraged to hone their mental arithmetic through quizzes and enrichment activities. All these activities boosts the confidence level of the students and develops a positive approach towards learning Mathematics. It inculcates an out-of-the-box thinking and enables them to relate Mathematics to their day-to-day life.
Social Science Museum
Simpkins also provides a distinct facility of Social Science museum to all the students. It is equipped with many static and dynamic models. The museum houses specimens and artifacts from different parts of the world spanning a large period of historical time. Children like movable dynamic models very much as it stimulates their curiosity thus making the subject interesting.
Computer Lab
“Computing is not about computers any more. It is about living.” – Nicholas Negroponte
The school has two computer labs which are air-conditioned and fully equipped with adequate number of terminals with latest configuration and computers with internet connectivity for the use of the students, teachers and staff working in the school. Children learn computer skills and operations under the able guidance of professionally trained staff. Computer and hands-on classrooms support multimedia, web design and desktop publishing as well as word-processing and research. Specialized labs support academic programs requiring professional video, modeling, animation, and recording facilities.
